Malaysia Clinches 26 Awards at the Global Health Asia Pacific Awards 2020<\/p>\n\n\n
Malaysia\u2019s position as the World\u2019s Healthcare Marvel was further cemented at the Global Health Asia Pacific Awards 2020. This was supported through 26 awards won this year, including the \u2018Stellar COVID-19 Achievement of the Year\u2019 category, which was awarded to the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH).<\/p>\n\n\n
Receiving this award, Dato\u2019 Sri Dr. Adham Baba, Minister of Health Malaysia noted that, \u201cThis recognition is truly for our dedicated and committed frontliners who have sacrificed time and effort as they held the fort in managing the pandemic and keeping us safe. To all of them, I extend my heartfelt gratitude.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n
Adding to his gratitude towards all frontliners, the MOH reiterated Malaysia\u2019 capability and philosophy of unity which has kept the nation thriving during these uncertain times. \u201c2020 has truly demonstrated the strength and resilience of Malaysia\u2019s healthcare system amid a global pandemic. As a nation, we have come together, authorities, frontliners and citizens, to protect the country and keep the nation as safe as possible,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n
Apart from gaining recognition for Malaysia\u2019s outstanding performance in managing the pandemic, Malaysia leaders and leading healthcare institutions made a sweep of wins at the awards.<\/p>\n\n\n
This year marks the fifth installation of the awards organised by Global Health and Travel. The awards recognise the commitment of healthcare travel players in the Asia Pacific region who have demonstrated consistent standards in healthcare delivery and patient experience. The judging process of the awards employs a methodology comprising a consumer survey, panel of industry experts, fulfilment of pre-determined judging criteria, market research reports as well as Global Health Asia Pacific\u2019s expert knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n
Malaysia\u2019s world-class quality, easily accessible, and affordable healthcare continues to be commended by international bodies amidst the global pandemic. It was one of the countries that demonstrated the best COVID-19 response recognised by the World Health Organization (WHO). Malaysia also reclaimed the coveted \u2018Destination of the Year\u2019 and \u2018Cluster of the Year\u2019 titles, each for the fourth time at the International Medical Travel Journal (IMTJ) Medical Travel Awards 2020 in London.<\/p>\n\n\n
